During the summer, fireworks displays are common throughout Japan.
The Japanese word for fireworks is "hanabi" which literally means "flowers of fire".
Here, three golden flowers bloom over the water off the City during Ito's annual hanabi "tai kai" ["grand meet"], during which some 130 thousand pieces are expended within a one-hour show.
